Miami-Dade Community College is the largest minority attended community college in the country. It is the source for the the largest transfer student population into Florida International University.
Miami-Dade Community College(MDCC) had been selected as an implementation site for the ALLSTAR Network because of their aviation and pre-engineering programs. One faculty member, Claudius Carnegie, has been involved in lesson plan input (on aviation, aerospace, rockets and weather) and other coordination efforts in the ALLSTAR development. Though MDCC was provided with equipment and software for on-site kiosk implementation at the Kendall Campus, these equipment and software have been used exclusively for lesson plan development.
Antoin (Tony) N. Nahas (Former Engineering Department Chair, Kendall Campus)-headed the initial MDCC effort until Summer 1998. Claudius Carnegie was contact point until Fall 1999.
New MDCC contact as of Fall 1999, Dr. Marc Wilson, Director, School of Aviation and Visitor Services, Homestead Campus.
