Michael A. Chapman, Professional Engineer (P.E.), is a Senior Data Systems Project Manager for the Experimental Testing Technology Division at the NASA Langley Research Center located in Hampton, VA. He is successfully accomplishing project management and technical development objectives for the planning, procurement, development, implementation and continuous improvement of open architecture data acquisition systems for major wind tunnels and ground-based test facilities. His credits include the design, development, and implementation of data acquisition and instrumentation systems for the National Transonic Facility, the Low Turbulence Pressure Tunnel, and the 8FT High Temperatures Tunnel. He has received many commendations for outstanding performance & quality implementation of measurement systems and services. As a senior engineer, he utilizes real-time computing systems, high speed measurement subsystems, realtime graphics, and networked communications to measure and display force, strain, pressure, thermal, and flow characteristics of test articles. He manages both software & hardware engineering efforts.

Mr. Chapman graduated in 1980 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. He earned a Masters of Science in Computer Science from George Washington University in 1986. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Virginia.
